Villa San Rocco is a unique luxurious Villa residence set in the heart of Italy.
Situated in the village of Benabbio, 30 minutes from Lucca - high among the imposing hills of northern Tuscany, the villa is an enchanting private residence incorporating state of the art conference facilities. Neglected for fifty years, this twelve-bedroom Baroque town house has now undergone a full and sympathetic restoration, using traditional skills and materials from the locality.

We also ask for a 150 Euro per person payment for a food Kitty for the two weeks. Due once in Italy.
We have created a unique Guitar making experience, combined
with luxurious accommodation and an exclusive 6 student per class environment, you get to relax,
let go and return to a pace that only Master Craftsman know about!
Under the watchful eye of Luthier - Chris Wynne you will pace yourself through every facet of hand crafting an Acoustic Guitar and embrace the older techniques of custom building such as bending your guitar sides and cutting the fretboard by hand
The course hours are around 8.30am till 5pm daily
You will get sundays (or one selected day) off - depending on how fast your custom building comes along
Most accommodations take you for 14 days - so we aim to have your guitar
finished in 14 days (apx 80hrs) and your 15th day accommodation will give you time to play your guitar and see the sights you missed whilst making your guitar
The course is our main focus!
We will enjoy casual diners together and dine together throughout the course. There are two wonderful restaurants just 2 minutes walk from Villa San Rocco
Using only Australian Tonewoods, we give you a stunning choice of Inlay options
for your Rosette, Fretboard and Headstock, including various body shape options
for your Classical or Acoustic Guitar. The same as our courses in Melbourne.
Our 17th Century; 700 year old Baroque workshops are located below the premises of the Villa.
All Tea, Coffee & Biscuits provided during the course!
So while your partner or family chooses from sitting by the pool, finding mediaval villages,
sipping on fine Italian coffee, nibbling on local Italian Chocolate, shopping
for local produce, hunting down Italian clothing stores, or just venturing off to the
local area you can handcraft your instrument in total serenity...

Getting Around Italy:
We suggest that you hire your own small car for your sightseeing and to get to the local villages & shopping centres. We will help with the transfers to and from the local train station of Bagni Di Lucca upon check in and out.
The Rome Airport or has a train direct into Rome Termini (Terminal) then you catch the next train out to Lucca then onto Bagni Di Lucca where we will be waiting to collect you
(This option is approximately 3 hours from Rome)
We personally fly into Pisa or Florence as it is easier and faster than landing in Rome. It is only 1 hour from Pisa to Bagni di Lucca.

Local restaurants provide fresh, seasonal, local produce with broad menu selections
Suites vegetarians as well as Gluten and Lactose intolerant people
If hiring a car - please note most of Italy is CLOSED on Sundays!
If you are coming in on a Sunday we will collect you from the train station then
take you into town the next day to collect your car
